Rising gas prices have unduly burdened Long Island commuters and motorists--straining household budgets and hurting our quality-of-life.  Senator Skelos is calling on Governor Paterson to support legislation suspending all state gas taxes during the summer driving season.

From Memorial Day to Labor Day, this initiative would provide much needed relief at the pump for Long Island's families by cutting the price of gas by $.33 per gallon.

In addition, Senator Skelos called on the federal government to match the state's effort and suspend all federal gas taxes during the summer months.

Taken together, this would reduce the price of gasoline by more than $.50 per gallon!
