SKELOS ENCOURAGES NOMINATIONS FOR SENATE'S 2008 WOMEN OF DISTINCTION AWARD

New York State Senate Deputy Majority Leader Dean G. Skelos (R-Rockville Centre) today invited the community to submit nominations for the State Senate’s 2008 "Women of Distinction" Award. Senator Skelos will select a woman from the Ninth Senate District to join other distinguished women throughout the state at the Senate’s annual Women of Distinction Awards reception to be held at the State Capitol in Albany on June 3rd.

"There are remarkable women living in our community who make extraordinary contributions to the lives of others," said Senator Skelos. "The ‘Women of Distinction’ program provides a wonderful opportunity to honor these women and express our appreciation for all they do to make our community a better place to live."

To nominate a woman for the Senate’s "Women of Distinction" program, please contact Senator Skelos’ office at 766-8383 or complete the nomination form at www.senatordeanskelos.org. Nomination must be submitted by May 7th.

The "Women of Distinction" program was created as part of the Senate’s celebration of Women’s History Month.
